MANILA, Philippines – After successfully unifying the WBC and WBO 140-pound championship belts, Timothy Bradley believes he is now ready for bigger fights in his career.
Bradley, according to eastsideboxing.com, wants the winner of the Manny Pacquiao-Ricky Hatton fight as his next opponent. He now holds a 24-0 record (11 by knockout) after scoring a unanimous decision win over Kendall Holt last Sunday.
The Pacquiao-Hatton bout is considered 2009’s biggest boxing event and Bradley wants to be a part of it by challenging the winner.
Dubbed "The Battle of East vs. West," the Pacquiao-Hatton match is slated on May 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Bradley said if talks for a possible fight with the Pacquiao-Hatton bout would not materialize his next choice would be Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez.
Fighting and beating the likes of Pacquiao, Hatton and Marquez could very well Bradley’s ticket to superstardom.
“I want the big dogs. I want to be the star of the (light-welterweight) division," said Bradley.
And holding both title belts could earn Bradley a second look from his possible challengers. – GMANews.TV
